Searches for Security Craft mod 1.12.2, Security Craft mod 1.20.1 and Security Craft mod 1.21.x often assume that one file can work across nearby versions. In modded Minecraft, that assumption is risky. Compatibility is a three-part match: game version, loader and mod build.
Why exact version numbers matter
Minecraft internals and loader APIs can change even between releases that look close numerically. A mod compiled for one target may refuse to load or may fail later during world loading on another.
Legacy 1.12.2 profiles
Treat 1.12.2 as a separate legacy environment. Keep its launcher profile, loader, dependencies and mods isolated from modern versions. Do not overwrite the working folder when experimenting with a newer release.
Minecraft 1.20.1 checks
For 1.20.1, confirm the mod build specifically supports 1.20.1 and the loader you use. A version label alone does not confirm Forge, NeoForge or Fabric compatibility.
Minecraft 1.21 and 1.21.1 checks
A 1.21-series search result should still be verified against the exact release notes for your build. Do not treat 1.21 and 1.21.1 as automatically equivalent.
Build a compatibility record
For a stable modpack, keep a short text list of Minecraft version, loader version, each mod version and key dependencies. That record is much easier to restore than reconstructing a working pack from memory.
Next step
When you are ready to install, return to the main Security Craft Mod download section after checking that your game version, loader and intended build match. For broader setup context, compare this guide with the installation setup guide.
